‘Out of my Way’ is one of the songs on Jaajo’s recently-released seven-track Extended Play (EP), ‘Afrolypso’.

The choir version of the monster hit debuted on streaming platforms, including YouTube, seven days ago, and it has since been topping charts.

“I was bored and I wanted to treat my fans to new experiences with my sound. So, the choir version idea of ‘Out of my Way’ came up, and I’m loving the outcome already,” Jaajo said as he gushes over his latest release.

‘Afrolypso’, which premiered in May 2022, was produced to entertain Africans and those in Black communities on a global scale.

AYKO noted that the hunt is aimed at discovering talents and giving them the necessary supports.

The Zazoo Zeh crooner made the disclosure during an interview with Jahbless, saying he’s been doing music for nearly a decade.

While revealing that his hit single -Zazoo Zeh was just a freestyle, Portable said the over 400 songs he released are what he had before he became famous.

Speaking on the controversy that surrounded the ownership of Zazoo zeh and his claim that popular dancer Poco Lee wanted to lay claim to its ownership, Portable said he was the rightful owner of the song.

Portable added that he was surprised when the artwork of the song gave prominence to Poco Lee, instead of him.

He noted that having sensed a foul play, he called the attention of popular show promoter Kogbagidi, who was also his benefactor and he expressed he’s uncomfortable with the situation.

The music star said even though Kogbagidi allayed his fears and promised him his concerns would be addressed, he didn’t discuss anything with Portable; that’s what led to his calling out of Poco Lee for copyright theft.

When asked if he has the intention to pursue an academic career, Portable explained that he has long decided to quit school, as music has more potency to quickly get him out of poverty.

Shatta Wale, had in a series of posts on his social media pages, accused Nigerian artistes of being selfish, saying they are not supporting their peers in other African countries, especially Ghana.

According to him, while his peers at British International School (BIS) would go to ShopRite after school activities, he would rather go to Shogunle, a residential area that shares a boundary with Ikeja Along and Bolade, to have a good time.

“My French teacher in secondary school told me I won’t be anything in life. I’m not going to lie, I was a bad kid, but one with good intentions… I went to BIS, which is one of the most expensive in Lagos. So, after school all the students would go to Shoprite, but I would head to Shogunle. He was my mum’s driver, and my mum passed away, and he then went with his thing -gyming. I went to America, and came back. I saw him when I returned to Nigeria… I didn’t plan to be famous, I was only hoping so, but God did it,” the Davido Music Worldwide (DMW) boss stated.

Speaking about his recent N1 million fundraising challenge, Davido said contrary to what many people may have thought, it was not a campaign, adding that the whole thing was unplanned as a matter of fact.

His words: “This is not a campaign, I was having a hair cut at the balcony, and we were drinking alcohol.. And because I have decided that it wasn’t safe to put out my account number, I initially didn’t want to do it. But I suddenly changed my mind. To the surprise of those around me that day, I just picked up my phone and pasted my account details on the internet, and the money started coming in immediately. When the money hit N200 million, I was so overwhelmed, such that I went to my room and I started crying. In that process, I thanked God for making me something in this life.“

Reacting to the death of Sylvester Oromoni, a student of Dowen College in Lagos, who was bullied by his schoolmates, Abubakar said bullies are everywhere, including Nollywood, adding that they are the ones setting the filmmaking industry on a downward spiral.

While noting that she was also seriously bullied in school, such that she intentionally missed the sitting of an exam, Abubakar noted that bullies in Nollywood include producers and actors.

Her words: “I repeated a semester in Bayero University, Kano, because I was bullied. I could not talk then because I was very scared. There was a particular exam I did not write because they (bullies) were there (exam hall) waiting for me for no reason. When I went back to my room, I found out that my food wasn’t there. At times, they (bullies) would lie on my bed which was always neatly laid. It is not something I want to remember because it was not a pleasant experience.

“There are bullies in Nollywood and everywhere else. They all have their gangs and they are the ones destroying Nollywood— from producers to actors. Some would borrow money from one and use their voices to intimidate one not to ask for one’s money back. Some people are just evil.

“I have been a victim (of bullying) since I was 14 years old when I started acting. I was bullied till I stood on my feet and said I would not take it anymore. If I open my mouth (to mention the names of the bullies), there would be waves of shock and amazement. Half of the people that are thought to be nice are actually mean and hateful. There is no joy in the heart of the people that have hurt me.”
