In the course of a chat on Tea With Tay, Davido said the teacher made the statement because he was quite a bad boy as a kid.

According to him, while his peers at British International School (BIS) would go to ShopRite after school activities, he would rather go to Shogunle, a residential area that shares a boundary with Ikeja Along and Bolade, to have a good time.

“My French teacher in secondary school told me I won’t be anything in life. I’m not going to lie, I was a bad kid, but one with good intentions… I went to BIS, which is one of the most expensive in Lagos. So, after school all the students would go to Shoprite, but I would head to Shogunle. He was my mum’s driver, and my mum passed away, and he then went with his thing -gyming. I went to America, and came back. I saw him when I returned to Nigeria… I didn’t plan to be famous, I was only hoping so, but God did it,” the Davido Music Worldwide (DMW) boss stated.

Speaking about his recent N1 million fundraising challenge, Davido said contrary to what many people may have thought, it was not a campaign, adding that the whole thing was unplanned as a matter of fact.

His words: “This is not a campaign, I was having a hair cut at the balcony, and we were drinking alcohol.. And because I have decided that it wasn’t safe to put out my account number, I initially didn’t want to do it. But I suddenly changed my mind. To the surprise of those around me that day, I just picked up my phone and pasted my account details on the internet, and the money started coming in immediately. When the money hit N200 million, I was so overwhelmed, such that I went to my room and I started crying. In that process, I thanked God for making me something in this life.“

The music star also spoke about the friends he recently lost, saying while there are many things to be grateful for as the year 2021 is concerned, his demised friends remain very close to his heart.

In a series of tweets that got tongues wagging on social media, Rema alleged that DJ Neptune released a collaboration between them without his permission.

Umaskng.com understands that the song in question is titled, For You, and it’s the fourth track on DJ Neptune’s second studio album, Greatness 2.0, which premiered on Friday, November 26.

Insisting that the song should immediately be yanked off the body of work, Rema threatened to embark on war even though his principals Don Jazzy and D’Prince would not approve of it.

The tweets read: “With all due respect chief! Dropped my old record without due process?!! I’m not happy at all. @deejayneptune.

DJ Neptune addresses the allegation from Rema

Addressing the intellectual property theft allegation by Rema, DJ Neptune released a statement, where he blamed everything on misunderstanding, and lack of proper communication.

In the statement, DJ Neptune said contrary to the Lady singer’s claims, he followed due process before the song was released, and the miscommunication was between Rema and his management.

“I would like to categorically state that I am not in any way upset with Rema as it is obvious that proper information was not passed across to him through his available channels, and as a respectable human being, I only felt it was just normal for me to follow due process in anything I do and that was the step taken,” he stated, as he shared screenshots of mail exchanges and chats between him and Rema’s representatives.

Unmaskng.com had reported that a Twitter user, @KhalidOshoke, who took to his timeline and detailed the whole incident, saying the deceased whom he simply identified as Susan passed away while being rushed to a hospital after being electrocuted at the nightclub.

Explaining the incident, Obi Cubana released a statement, where he said she tripped and fell while leaving the club premises, after which she died untimely.

The statement read: “We wish to thank our esteemed patrons and customers for their love and support these last couple of days. Indeed, the loss of a customer is a blow that hit us harder than we could have imagined, particularly because of the unexpected nature of her demise. We want to extend our heartfelt sympathy once more to the family of the deceased; we pray that the almighty God will continue to grant them the fortitude to bear this painful loss.

“Despite the myriad of question and assumptions out in the public, we had earnestly refrained from making any statement until this moment for two reasons; mainly because we had to join the family and friends to mourn a beautiful life that was taken too soon, and to enable the police to extensively conduct and carry out their investigations.

“It, therefore, behoves on us at this moment to inform the general public of these series of facts. On the 14th of November 2021, a dear customer whilst leaving our premises tripped and fell and this led to her painful and untimely death. Owing to this tragedy, our management reached a decision to shut down our business so as to adequately mourn the deceased, and also allow the police unfettered access to conduct their investigations.”

The club mentioned that the female clubber was playing with her friends when she tripped and fell a few metres from the car park. However, she became unconscious and died on her way to the hospital. They further claimed that the Nigeria Police have carried out an extensive investigation and thoroughly reviewed their closed-circuit television.

“On that fateful morning, the deceased after leaving the club was happily playing around with her friends, when she made a slight run, tripped and fell down a few meters to the car park and became unconscious. Sadly, she passed on, on their way to the hospital. The Nigerian Police Force has extensively carried out their investigations and thoroughly reviewed our wide and lengthy CCTV footage and we await the report of this investigation.

“We assure the public that we have employed several health and safety standards and we will continue to place safety over profit. We have also used this bitter lesson to upgrade our already decent safety procedures and we would do our utmost best to continue to serve as a leader in this sector. May God bless the soul of the departed,” the statement added.

Speaking on Oyogo, Jaajo explained that having secured the beat from his producer, it took him a second try to consider recording it.

“Just like every other song I have done, my producer shared a beat with me from Nigeria and asked me to listen to it. I did and I realised it was amanpiano, a music genre that derived its name from the Zulu (a tribe in South Africa).

“At first, I didn’t fancy the beat, but he continued telling me to jump on it is the latest music trend in Nigeria. I eventually bowed to the pressure from him, and I wrote Oyogo and recorded it in no time because I surprisingly loved what the producer was suggesting,” he told journalists via a zoom meeting from the United States of America (USA), where he resides.

When asked about the theme of the song, and what ‘Oyogo’ means, Jaajo explained that the title of the song is a pet name for pretty ladies.

According to him, the song tells the story of a shy girl who fell in love with him.

“The girl I sang about would stop at nothing to have some quality time with me. Interestingly, we portrayed this story in the music video, where the father was eventually carried away with other ladies that he was attracted to,” he added.

Revealing how he secured DJ Neptune’s interest in featuring in the song, Jaajo said he first thought of partnering with Phyno for the monster hit, adding that the indigenous rapper was unavailable at the time due to his impending forthcoming album.

“I eventually thought of DJ Neptune, and to my utmost surprise, he was ecstatic about the featuring and showed supports in the most unbelievable way,” Jaajo stated.

Commemorating Nigeria’s 61st Independence Day during his performance at Base Lounge in Maryland, USA, Jaajo advised the citizenry to be more patriotic and keep believing in the betterment of the country.

While maintaining that the most populous African nation needs improvement in many areas, Jaajo sought dialogue, saying it’s the best form of keeping everyone together.
